San Francisco style defined
Ok, I'm satisfying my need for ALL THE BURGUNDY SHOES by hunting for my favorites and publishing here. Honestly, I have one pair, but I'm craving more and more and more. I am exercising self-control, however, and hiding all of my credit cards. Is there a medal or some sort of reward for such exemplary behavior?

I'm totally and completely obsessed with these over the knee boots. Not only are they incredibly comfortable, but they're waterproof too!!!!!!!!!! Say wha?!?!? With all the rain expected this year, I'm thinking they were a good buy. I love my Hunter rain boots, but they're bulky and hard to transport to and from work on public transit. I'll wear them into work on a rainy day, and then it'll stop raining, and then they'll sit in my cube for a month. No bueno. I love that I can wear these all day whether it's raining or not, and not worry about a backup shoe.
In other news, I'm counting down the days until I return to work. I've still got a month, but it's going to fly by before I know it. Hence, I'm starting to think about my work wardrobe. This Banana Republic dress is a fantastic addition to my work dresses (and it's currently retailing for about $40!). It's flattering but roomy (read = hides my post-pregnancy belly!). It's also versatile in that it's kind of a blank canvas, and can be paired with boots, tights and heels, sandals, and any manner of jewelry to mix it up. I paired it here with a sleeveless top, also from Banana (see link below), to demonstrate that versatility. I also used Aaron's Ted Baker pocket square as a neck tie to show a different spin.
This dress now comes in a sleeveless version, as well as blue and maroon (with sleeves). I can't emphasize what a great dress this is!

I'm in full confession mode, so I'm going to tell you some silly blogger stories regarding this shoot:
1. I wore this outfit on a Thursday to a blogging event. Nahal and I took pictures, but it was getting dark, so only a few turned out.
2. Therefore, I wore this again on Saturday night for my 5-year-anniversary dinner. Of course we were running late (my fault, as always), so I risked divorce by asking Aaron to take my photo.
3. I could not get the braid right the 2nd time around. I tried it like 8,000 times while I was pumping before leaving the house (sorry if that's TMI).
4. I got LASIK this week, so I couldn't wear contacts either of these nights. I wore them Thursday night anyway because I'm a rebel like that. And on Saturday night, I basically wandered around blind while Aaron took these photos (because I'm too vain to wear my glasses).
5. I used to teach at a prison and my inmates wanted me to be on a fashion makeover show because they thought my style was so atrocious. I was intentionally dressing in a frumpy manner to deter suitors. HA.
6. Aaron, I love you and thanks for putting up with me and my photo shoots. And yes, this is a test to see if you actually read my blog. Which I'm pretty sure you do.
