Blue Suede Shoes

Hello friends! It's been a little while since I've had time to post--these shots are from Mother's Day, which was nearly 3 weeks ago...but it's been a little cray cray up in here! Between working, traveling, having family in town, and dealing with a toddler who refuses to go to bed, I haven't had any free time. I'm not complaining though; I had a wonderful time in Vegas with my husband (photos coming soon!) and a really nice time with my parents when they were visiting. I'll admit I might be mildly complaining about the sleep-averse toddler. Sleep-averse toddlers equate to sleep-deprived and extremely cranky parents. And maybe a few tears. At work. But let's not get into too much detail on that front!

I found these shoes at Nordstrom Rack a few weeks ago when I was on a personal shopping gig, but in an attempt to appear professional, I did not purchase myself shoes while on the clock. I couldn't stop thinking about them though, and I had to go back a few days later and add them to my collection. The blue is sold out online, but I've linked to the black version. The pants are Asos Maternity, and I absolutely love them, but I haven't figured out how to wear them with flats yet...any suggestions? I'm more or less done with heels until baby comes, so any advice is welcome!

As of today, I'm T - 2 months until my due date--can you believe it? I'm pretty sure I'm in denial. I'm anxious to meet the little fellow, but I'm feeling completely unprepared. I suppose that's normal for all expecting parents.

Thanks for reading and hope you're all doing well and surviving this crazy weather!

So Studly

So I've entered the wear-heels-only-when-absolutely-necessary phase of my pregnancy. I swear, as soon as I bragged about rocking heels at 6 months pregnant, I suddenly could no longer wear heels. I can only pull them off for an hour or so at a time, which is just long enough for a photo shoot or to wear to and from dinner. I know what you're thinking, I can sense you rolling your eyes...but I'm a heel girl through and through, and as vain as it is, I just cannot give them up entirely. Feel free to judge! :) Being relegated to wearing flats doesn't have to be all bad though. See exhibit A below.

Exhibit A

This particular day, I was in a huge rush to get dressed, as I had spent the majority of my morning toddler-wrangling. Contrary to popular belief, I typically spend about 3 times as much time getting Sylvie dressed as I do getting myself dressed. True story. So in my haste I accidentally put this dress on backwards, which actually worked quite well. The front is ruched and for some reason looked odd on my bump the last time I tried it on. The jacket was added for a little warmth, given that it's nearly summer in San Francisco, which means the weather is miserable and cold. Everything I'm wearing in this post is old, save the main attraction (shoes) but I've put links to similar items below, including a few ruched dresses. I love ruching. Pregnant or no, it's flattering and flexible.

What are your favorite flats? I'm in the market, so recommendations are welcome!

As always, thanks for reading and have a super weekend! xoxoxo

Dreaming of Pink

I love this pink Amanda Uprichard jumpsuit (link below). It's silky smooth, comfortable, and not to mention BRIGHT PINK! Wearing this electric pop of color is enough to boost any mood and is perfect for spring/summer ahead. I've been working up the nerve to wear this out in chilly San Francisco, but layered with this equally amazing Rebecca Minkoff vest (also below), I think I can pull it off.

The LV clutch was borrowed, sadly, and no long in stores, but I've added a couple options below that would go great with this look. Nude sandals/heels would also be perfect, and I opted for these leopard sandals (also sadly no longer available) because I can't resist leopard, but there are a few great and affordable options for footwear below as well!

West Coast Mama

I haven't always been a West Coast girl, but ever since I packed up my belongings, rented a U-Haul, and landed in California, it's felt like home. Which, to some, may not seem like that big of a revelation. But for a girl who grew up an Air Force BRAT, lived too many places to list, and moved from city to city, country to country, putting down roots was really monumental. Sometimes I can't even believe I've been here for a decade. But I guess that's what happens when you finally find a place that feels like home.

Ok enough of the sappy stuff. Let's get to the good stuff. How amazing is this tee that I received courtesy of Oh Baby Chic? It's so comfy and it's flexible enough that I'll be able to wear it post-pregnancy. They have a whole line of maternity & mama gear--check it out!

Also, I would like to do a boss brag. "What is that?" you may ask. Well, let me fill you in. My super chic boss came into the office wearing these heels one day, and I couldn't stop obsessing over them. She (being the awesomesauce lady that she is) offered to head back to TJ Maxx to see if they had them in my size. And viola! Now I'm the proud owner of these gorgeous and very reasonably priced Via Spiga beauts. I couldn't find them anywhere online; believe me, I tried! So I put a few similar alternatives below, and I'm pretty sure they still have them in stock at TJ Maxx.

Thanks for reading and have a super weekend!
